From 22 to 25 October 2025, partners of the MINOTAUR Project convened in Lisbon for a productive consortium meeting hosted by Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico \u2013 ID (IST-ID). The four-day event brought together representatives from all project partners to review progress, share technical insights, and plan the next phases of work towards more efficient and sustainable mineral exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology (PWr) was represented by
Dr. Magdalena Worsa-Kozak, who leads the project at PWr, along with members of the project team: Prof. Rados\u0142aw Zimroz, MSc. Adam Wr\u00f3blewski, and Dr. Krzysztof Chudy. PWr plays a key role in the project as the coordinator of Work Package 1, which has just been completed, and is also responsible for Task 5.3 within Work Package 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, each work package was presented and discussed in detail \u2014 covering the latest achievements, ongoing challenges, and opportunities for joint efforts. Discussions on WP5 focused in particular on the roadmap for the next steps, including the implementation strategy for Task 5.3 led by PWr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions provided a valuable opportunity for all partners to align on project goals and ensure coherent development across MINOTAUR’s technical and research areas. This collaborative approach helps support consistent progress and strengthens cooperation across teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting concluded with a site visit to the Somincor Boliden Neves-Corvo underground mine, one of Portugal’s most important mining operations. Participants visited the mining site and drilling site, gaining hands-on insight into underground extraction processes, safety procedures, and drilling technologies. This visit offered a unique opportunity to connect the project’s research and innovation efforts with real-world industrial practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This consortium meeting marked an important milestone in the implementation of the MINOTAUR Project, reinforcing the shared commitment of all partners to develop innovative, safe, and sustainable mining solutions for Europe’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
