The congress brought together researchers, engineers, and industry representatives from around the world, providing a forum for presenting the latest research findings, exchanging experiences, and establishing international collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representatives of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at Wroc\u0142aw University of Technology actively participated in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the invitation of the organizers, Prof. Rados\u0142aw Zimroz, PhD, Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology, delivered a Distinguished Lecture, sharing his experience and research findings in the field of machine diagnostics and monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"982\" height=\"638\" src=\"http:\/\/dmc.pwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dmc.pwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-5.png 982w, https:\/\/dmc.pwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-5-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/dmc.pwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/image-5-767x498.png 767w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our researchers also presented the results of research carried out as part of ongoing grant projects. Dr Jacek Wodecki, MSc Anna Michalak, MSc Eng Przemys\u0142aw D\u0105bek and Prof. Rados\u0142aw Zimroz gave a total of six presentations on topics including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>bearing diagnostics using acoustic signals,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>analysis and segmentation of signals from rotating machinery,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the identification of frequency bands relevant to diagnostics,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the use of tensor factorization and image analysis methods to estimate the speed of machine components,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the analysis of machine degradation based on long-term diagnostic data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DMC members presented the following material:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jacek Wodecki, Anna Michalak: <em>Two-stage NMF with intermediate feature filtering and enhancement for acoustic-based cyclostationary bearing diagnostics<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anna Michalak, Rados\u0142aw Zimroz, Agnieszka Wy\u0142oma\u0144ska: <em>Long-term degradation profile identification based on tensor- based decomposition of cyclic spectral conference and its application to run-to-failure measurements<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daniel Kuzio, Radls\u0142aw Zimroz, Agnieszka Wy\u0142oma\u0144ska: <em>On the Efficiency of Impulsiveness-based Statistical Criteria for Local Damage Detection in Rolling Element Bearings<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rados\u0142aw Zimroz: <em>Mobile robot based inspection of large scale infrastructure in extreme conditions &#8211; a mining industry case study<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Przemys\u0142aw D\u0105bek, Anna Michalak, Jacek Wodecki and Rados\u0142aw Zimroz: <em>Application of Nonnegative Tensor Factorization to RGB video sequence for instantaneous speed estimation of the rotating machine components<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justyna Hebda-Sobkowicz, Anna Michalak, Jacek Wodecki, Rados\u0142aw Zimroz: <em>Searching for informative frequency band in non-Gaussian data &#8211; comparison of results for time-frequency and bi-frequency domains<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anna Michalak, Rados\u0142aw Zimroz, and Agnieszka Wy\u0142oma\u0144ska: <em>The procedure of segmentation of signal from rotating machinery &#8211; a case study of acoustic measurement with impulsive background noise.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation in WCCM 2026 is not only an opportunity to present research findings at an international forum. It also offers the chance to meet renowned experts, exchange experiences, discuss new research directions, and build relationships that may lead to further projects and scientific collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the participants point out, the international congress is also an opportunity to meet friends, former colleagues and mentors, get to know new researchers, and talk to leading experts in the field of machine diagnostics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And after the conference? A moment for a stroll on the way back to the hotel and a taste of Milan after hours.
