Research Assistant (SafeMe4Mine)
The Department of Mining and Geodesy, cooperating with the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology, is looking for candidates for the position of research fellow in the field of environmental engineering, mining, and energetics. The employed person will be responsible for the implementation of tasks in the research project “Preventive Maintenance system on safety devices of Mining Machinery” (SafeMe4Mine), a research project funded by KIC Raw Materials.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting scientific research and implementation of tasks within regarded projects according to the research plan of the proposal (among others: analysis of experimental data, development of algorithms and analytical procedures, validation, visualization, testing).
- Processing and analysis of various types of data.
- Analysis of the research results.
- Preparation of publications in scientific journals, presenting the results at the scientific conferences.
- Providing results of research to the PI.
- Cooperation with consortium partners.
- Developing documentation of conducted experiments/simulations, reporting.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics, Computer science, Technology, Environmental science, Engineering, Machine construction, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Mining, Geology, Geodesy or related.
- Required languages (spoken and written): English – excellent (correspondence, meetings, teleconferences, reports), Polish – proficient;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint;
- Programming experience in Matlab, R or Python;
- Ability to carry out research, preparation of reports and publications;
- Readiness for business trips, including abroad;
- Knowledge and skills in statistical data analysis are welcome, preferably in applications for analyzing the reliability of technical objects;
- Experience in the implementation of research projects;
- Creativity and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a small-team environment;
- Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be the principal place of employment as understood by Polish law (Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym, Dz.U. 2005 nr 164, poz. 1365 ze zm.).
