On Thursday, December 15, the First Business Breakfast with EIT Raw Materials was held under the key topic “Together we are shaping the mining and processing of the future for Europe’s raw material supply security!”.
The event was hosted in Building H-14 of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Magdalena Worsa-Kozak, EIT Raw Materials coordinator at PWr, opened the meeting by briefly introducing the organizers and the goal.
People associated with the raw materials sector, representing 21 business and industrial institutions, had the opportunity to listen to many interesting speeches, including three main presentations given by:
– Krzysztof Kubacki, Director of EIT Raw Materials Innovation Hub East: “EIT Raw Materials for Business”,
– Radosław Zimroz, Dean of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology at PWr: “WGGG for Business”,
– Jacek Wodecki, member of the AMICOS project team: “AMICOS project – Autonomous monitoring system for mining technical infrastructure”.
In addition, meeting participants could also learn about other current and past EIT Raw Materials co-funded projects at PWr, including MAMMA, OPMO, SafeMe4Mine, VOT3D, ECHO (upscaling projects), BrineRIS (capacity building project), or MEITIM, TIMRex, RISInternship and AlcaSIM (educational projects).
Of great interest to the more than 70 attendees of the Breakfast were the results of the AMICOS project on the application of mobile robotics solutions in the monitoring of mining and industrial infrastructure, which is very gratifying in light of the upcoming commercialization phase of the project solutions.
In addition, during the discussion session, participants shared ideas for new projects and the results of ongoing research, which resulted in newly established contacts, substantive discussions, and numerous cooperation initiatives.
We hope that the Business Breakfast with EIT Raw Materials will permanently enter the calendar of events of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology.
