The 5th Polish Mining Congress was held on September 06-07 at the International Congress Center in Katowice. The motto of the event was “The mining industry of the 21st century – how to search for, mine and process mineral and energy resources while protecting the climate and environment?“. The purpose of the congress was to discuss the current problems of the mining industry and the challenges facing the mining industry in the 21st century. During the congress, the DMC team presented the achievements of ongoing projects to date:

Consortium meeting – project VOT3D
On July 21, 2022, the Kickoff meeting of the VOT3D project was held. The meeting was organized in an online form. During the meeting, each of the partners made a brief introduction of themselves, then the main objectives of the project were discussed. Members of the consortium prepared a summary of the Tasks for which they are responsible and presented the general scope of their implementation.
The next meeting of VOT3D project members is scheduled for the end of September in Wroclaw.
The project #VOT3D has started!
On July 1, 2022 the EIT-RM-funded project named Ventilation Optimising Technology based on 3D-scanning (VOT3D) officially started.
The V0T3D project aims to robotize the RM sector by introducing modern methods and innovative solutions for the optimization of underground ventilation with the main aim of reducing electricity consumption.

DMC on XXXI School of Underground Exploitation
The 31st edition of the School of Underground Exploitation (Szkoła Eksploatacji Podziemnej) conference took place in Krakow from 11 to 13 April. DMC team joined other scientists, policy-makers, representatives of mining companies, and technology providers from Poland and abroad to present the effects of the most recent work performed in the scope of EIT Raw Materials projects. As usual, the sessions covered a wide thematic spectrum, ranging from the education of future raw materials industry workforce to IT solutions enhancing production processes in mining.

Yesterday the team of AMICOS project held a very interesting and fruitful meeting. Since the last year of the project has started, we are getting ready to show the world what we are capable of. Around the middle of this year we will perform final demonstrations of our system regarding three separate use cases. Stay tuned, more announcements will appear soon, and it will be exciting!
ECHO Project pilot coordination in KGHM
On the 23rd of February, the DMC team visited the KGHM Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine and had the opportunity to discuss the issues related to the Lekatech Electric Hammer (LEH) assembly in the operational conditions of an underground mine.
The #ECHO project has started!
On February 11-13 we have launched the ECHO – Electrical Computerised Hammering Operator project. The kick-off meeting was organized online by the Leader of the project, Lekatech Oy. During this two-day session, we had the opportunity to talk about the project goals, share ideas, and develop the best practices for defined tasks implementation. Many thanks to all participants for a very productive meeting.
