Robots left the lab to try their hands in the underground world

Last week was a very intense time for DMC. Directly after Festival of Knowledge, robots, drones and measurement equipment got packed and prepared to be taken for an underground adventure in the corridors of the former gold and arsenic mine in Złoty Stok (meaning ‘golden hillside’). Researchers from the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology, hand in hand with young scientists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering tried their best, facing the problems that await electronic devices in mines.

Wheeled, tracked or legged undercarriage: what is the best choice for an underground challenge?

Zaproszenie na Dolnośląski Festiwal Nauki

Zespół Digital Mining Center Wydziału Geoinżynierii, Górnictwa i Geologii Politechniki Wrocławskiej w ramach Dolnośląskiego Festiwalu Nauki serdecznie zaprasza na warsztaty on-line na temat:

Górnictwo – maszyny i roboty – rzeczywistość i świat wirtualny.

10.00 – 11.00

• 22. września 2020r. o godz. 10.00 – 11.00

• 23. września 2020r. o godz. 10.00 – 11.00

New research published

As always we are very happy to announce that members of DMC have published another research paper. This time it is related to dynamic modeling of vibrating sieving screen used in the mining industry. The paper has been published in the special issue of Shock and Vibration journal entitled “Advances in Fault Diagnosis and Defect Detection in Mechanical and Civil Engineering”. The work presented in this paper has been funded by OPMO project. Full citation can be found on the research page.

Two new articles published in MSSP

We are happy to announce that members of DMC recently published two articles in Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing journal. Both of them present newly developed vibration signal processing techniques mainly aimed for machine diagnostics purposes (see references below). The work presented in those papers has been funded by MAMMA and OPMO projects. Full citations can be found on the research page.

DMC member awarded!

We are very happy to announce that our member Justyna Hebda-Sobkowicz has been awarded a diploma of prof. Ludwik Muller for the best presentation about “Conditional variance statistic in application to the local damage detection in mining machine” on the Machine Diagnostics Symposium (XLVII Ogólnopolskie Sympozjum DIAGNOSTYKA MASZYN) that we have recently attended.
